Send PC to Digitakt in song mode

Hi - I understood that you can send PC from A4 in song mode to DT in order to change patterns, but can’t get it to work.

Is this right, and if so how can I get it to work?

Yes.

Connect a working MIDI cable from the AF’s MIDI Out port to the DT’s MIDI In port.

On the AF:

  • In the GLOBAL > MIDI CONFIG > PORT CONFIG menu, set OUT PORT FUNC to “MIDI” and set OUTPUT TO to "MIDI;
  • In the GLOBAL > MIDI CONFIG > SYNC menu, activate PROG CH SEND;
  • In the GLOBAL > MIDI CONFIG > CHANNELS menu, set a specific number for PROGRAM CHANGE OUT CHANNEL.

On the DT:

  • In the SETTINGS > MIDI CONFIG > PORT CONFIG menu, set INPUT FROM to “MIDI”;
  • In the SETTINGS > MIDI CONFIG > SYNC menu, activate PROG CH RECEIVE;
  • In the SETTINGS > MIDI CONFIG > CHANNELS menu, set PROG CHG IN CH to the same MIDI channel number as you set on the AF.

There may be other settings to make depending on what other interactions you want the AF and DT to have.
