Semi-automated way to export set from Ableton to OT?

Hi!

I am looking into the Push2 now… Are any of you regularly export sets to OT? That is, use Ableton for composing, possibly freeze tracks or something, then put them into the OT for performing.
Fastest way to do this? Any practical tips?
Rusty?

I’ve done it quite a bit myself. Generally I’ll either select all the track headers and in Live’s render options choose “selected tracks” instead of “master”. This will get you seperate stems for all the tracks that are selected.

Otherwise if I need to comp together a lot of files on each track to make a stem, I’ll just consolidate the clips when I’m done and drag the new file out of Live’s Consolidate folder (in the project folder).

Tarekith is a real expert in this area.

I find it easiest to set up follow actions on the clips (select all to just choose the Follow action once), 16, 32 or 64 clips in a row, follow action to switch to the next clip after 1 bar, 2 bars, whatever, and record the audio output into a different clip. Then you can easily slice it up on the OT and can choose between all those Ableton clips of one track by turning the STRT knob on the OT.

Also useful for Rytm’s, MPC’s, iPads, etc. It’s the easiest way I found to create sample chains.

EDIT: you might also download the OctaChainer tool. slices can then have different lengths. just drag a folder into the tool.
