It’s used in a lot of other electro-ish tracks so I guess it’s from a popular sample pack or drum machine.
Its a snare with lots of reverb, why not cut it from the track if you like it so much, and apply some eq ?
Sure could. Just for fidelity’s sake I was hoping to source the original.
Might end up being exactly that - being cross sampled in between artists.
That’s 2 “snares” or some other kind of organic sound sources pitched to match up with each other and then being used as snares. The first one and another one are stacked on top of each other with a shitload of reverb creating the “second one” that you’re hearing after 0:14
My ears aren’t good enough to be able to tell you exactly what the second snare sound is, but you can hear the timbre it adds and since you have the first one, if I were really motivated to create the sound then I might clip the first one out of this track and then start layering snare-like sounds on top of it until it has a similar timbre then see if you can adjust the pitch and reverb to something closer.
I’d almost say that finding the right reverb is more important than the actual snare sound in this instance.
Now if you’ve more or less reverse engineered the overall feel of the snare that you do like by using the original and another layer, you can then work on finding or making something that sounds like the first snare to replace it.
If you want the end product to sound exactly like this, I would probably start with this method so you don’t waste a bunch of time trying to create both sounds from nothing. It will be easier to pin down the sound you want if half of the tone is already correct, which is why I wouldn’t try to replace the first snare until you feel like you have the sound you want.
I don’t think that’s necessarily a common sample though, it’s just being used in a common way.

Mixed with another snare and room reverb.
