I have just received my new Analog Keys from Thomann and I have a few problems:
1.- I can hear a screw moving inside the synth when I move it. I don’t see any damage in the exterior. All the screws are well an none is missing. Can this be a problem in the future?
2.- I hear a lot of artifacts (noises) coming from the delay in a few sounds. I know is the delay because if I reduce the delay send the noise is gone. Is this normal?
take out your phone camera and document what you hear and what you see, video proof … also film yourself when you pack that box before you send it back … cant be too paranoid when it comes to several thousand euro …
my 2ct, send it back, elektron gear comes without loose components inside
I had exactly the same thing. They replaced the unit and the new one has a couple imperfections. It is not the Japanese manufacturing I am used to. More like a Saab. Nevertheless, I like the sounds that come out.
They replace finally myunit too. But the new one has one imperfection: the display is slightly curved. Like if it was a little bit longer than the hole to place it.
Think it’s safe to say that IF I get an AK, I will go to Sweetwater or ask them to open it up, make sure it does not seat unevenly and no warping, all LED’s work, and that there’s no parts sliding around inside, of the actual unit I will be buying. Surely, quality control could catch these things? A lot of cash for these things to be remotely acceptable.
Yes!!! This is me too. The display on the new one they sent me is off center. On the left edge I can see two spots of light beyond the frame which were not visible in my first model. But I said what the hell, I am not sending the bastard back a second time.
And it rocked a bit on my glass table until I leveled it up with a foam sticker.
But I am having all kinds of fun with it, so I just say what the hell.
At some point, my time and trouble is worth more money than messing around with it.
Yes same with my A4. Got a screw making noise inside my unit.
Plus my reverb is kind of weird. Its making a high pitched metallic sound that is completely out of tune when i use it, so its kind of annoying…
But did you guys demand to get a new unit? Or did you just describe the problem and they said it themselves?
