Science Lab Challenge, February 2015

/b/ros, this was good.

When are we doing this again? How many entries where delivered?! I wanna hear all of them!
Can’t wait for Elektron to upload them.

Everyone has probably heard enough tracks by now, but here’s my submission for the ones who can’t get enough  (I didn’t had the time to upload it to soundcloud earlier)

I was thinking the same  Come on Elektron (Cenk running the label?)

A label would be great considering the amount of creativity and talent associated with Elektron. Since purchasing a RYTM and the recent addition of a MD I have pretty much stepped away from Computer based production leaving Ableton to simply record and post production work.

I absolutely cannot wait till Overbridge comes out and with the recent videos at NAMM it looks like it is coming soon.

My question for the competition is were we supposed to upload our own Soundcloud links? From what I understood on the original instructions we were to send in our tracks?

 Yep loads of work on the MD, I used endless retriggers mostly and then chance the timing … what results in a sort of pitch control…
Really hard to hit some notes your looking for …(sometimes the result ends up between 2 notes… but hitting neither). but then again… it triggers creativity and i find that the machinedrum is talking back, saying: “try this melody instead!”

Strange thing is: even if the pattern is getting complex with many notes…
like in the end part of my track: https://soundcloud.com/therobotsarecoming/md-elektrofunk-its-not/s-2jDSe
it doesn’t get me frustrated… and keeps me inspired to add parameter locks! Just love the workflow as its a dialog between man and machine and thats where the magic is with elektron gear i think.

Before realizing that MIDI sequencing was not allowed I was working on this:

Still an example of one sample + one machine magic (and a bit of eq/comp in live since I cant help myself and stick to one bassline only): it sounds okish in the headphones, waiting for overbridge now…maybe with multitracking I could (a bit trial and error really) get it to sound acceptable on the speakers too

Hi,

electrofunk

sometimes occurs anything unexpectedly working with Equipment especially with the MD. :sob: One day I love it, another day i hate it cause i can´t catch the thing i want. But that the same in real life, it happens when you are making plans.
The day i could buy an AR will come. At the time now i am in a decision making process AR or OT cause Md is on board maybe aAR is overdosed, but i like the concept of the AR more and especially with overbridge.

Hi,
Sharing my track.

Hi Elektronauts friends

Nice to meet you all and glad to be part of this great Forum.

Better late than never, here is my track for the Contest. Made it with my AR in a couple hours before the deadline. Unfortunately my computer got wasted so I had to record it from the phone output to a handy recorder!

Hope you like it and congrats for all the great tracks you’ve been posting!

Cheers from Argentina.
Iván

pd: the title is from the great Bradbury’s story “There will come soft rains”

Has anyone gotten a confirmation today?

yep

Ditto

I got a “Thanks” PM

You were supposed to message the OP of this thread a link to where your mp3 could be downloaded.
Many of us also provided our soundcloud versions so we could get some feedback and share. I doubt I’m in contention for the win but still I put 10 hours in and want some folks to listen to the darn thing!
Someone made a soundcloud playlist out of all the available submissions and I listened to that thing most of the weekend while recovering from a head cold. It’s inspiring.

Hi all.

Here is mine (OT) :
