i have a new project! the park tunes will continue but i am starting a masters program next month and my time and money will soon be far more limited. since i live a few blocks away from the Woodland Park Zoo, i figured i’d get an annual membership so i can go make animal inspired tunes there instead of driving far and wide to all the parks.
today was fun! i spent most of the day at the zoo. i saw pretty much everything that was out and about. i used to go to the Taipei Zoo by myself and its a much nicer experience than going with other people imo. this was my first time doing Woodland Park Zoo by myself. i’ve been going there since i was a lil baby too! theres been cool changes and more cool stuff coming soon, im excited to be a member.
i made this tune after visiting Bug World. i saw a leaf bug eating a leaf which was neat. and some real big stick bugs. i made this tune on the M8 in the garden outside Bug World. i used some randomized melody lines that sounded like bugs moving around to me.
i made this tune in the Microsoft Pollinator Patio. its behind the butterfly house. the butterflies arent here at the moment, hoping they bring em back soon. dont love the weird branding but hey i guess microsoft needs to remind us they are local. the patio was cool tho! more like a garden, lots of nice plants and a decent bench to sit on. i made this one on the p-6 and s-1 combo. feels fluttery at moments.
i made this one after checking out the zebras, giraffes and lions in the afrian savannah zone. for some reason it took me forever to navigate my way over here but i made it. when i was looking at the zebra a dude said “it looks like a horse” to his girlfriend in a very earnest way. i wonder if he has ever seen a zebra before because thats a realization we have at the age of like 1. i made this tune on the M8. i brought along a panasonic walkman i got at a thrift store a few weeks back with an “african rhythms” tape, so i sampled a percussion loop off that to start this off.
looking forward to a summer full of animals!
