Hey gang, bought another octatrack, first thing i did was load some old projects to sift through and everything was saved…except scenes. my understanding is that scenes are saved with parts, parts (i usually only use one) seem fine, as all my machines and samples loaded correctly. maybe there is an off chance that i forgot to save again once i created the scenes, which would have been my last step . or maybe i missed an extra step. there were maybe 3 scenes saved, on projects i know i had the full 16 originally.
no real issue since i am reformatting any older project to fit my new template but i want to be sure i don’t mess this up when i start preparing my live sets, idea being using this current set as my mining set and then exporting finished projects to a new set.
appreciate any info, or link to a definitive “do this to not make dumbass mistakes when backing up” thread/info sheet.
thanks
Hi. Welcome back then !
So no parameters locked to scenes ?
For me Save Project suffice.
It saves all settings, including banks where are saved part parameters.
If you want to be able to reload part settings in live conditions, you can save parts, but you also have to save project after, because otherwise if you reload the project the last saved part state is overwritten by last project saved state.
See what I mean ?
Btw have you tried RELOAD ?
Hey thanks! First project i opened up was one with a drum loop you sent me!
I had about 3 scenes that showed up. The rest were empty. Have not tried reloading, will try that when i get home.
So if i save the project, then i pirge unised samples, then collect samples and save to a new set i should be good? Maybe i just didn’t save the project after adding the scenes?
I hope it didn’t fuck your scenes !
That’s a possibility if you reloaded.
When you open a project, you open the last state before power off. It doesn’t open saved state. You have to reload it if you want it.
Concerning PURGE it doesn’t affect Slots 1-8. They are considered as used because their assignment is the default one. I don’t think you can save to a new set. You have to copy paste the project folder imho.
