Scapeshift (Tim Exile Reaktor groovebox)

Given all that Tim’s had to deal with recently, to drop this nutty Autechre-like groovebox in Reaktor is crazy. $50 on his patreon, half if you’re a patron. The excellent video by Mylarmelodies shows it off rather well.

here is the master explaining it himself…

I’ll have to check this out. Always interested in crazy Reaktor stuff :+1: I still got his The Mouth vocal effects thing.

I’ve no idea what it does and how, but sounds exciting!

yo that looks sick! be wild for resampling and mangling

Tim - mighty impressive!

Any chance of producing a low graphic resource variant that is aimed at Machine+?

Would be irresistible.

man that’s wild.

I have to say I am a big Fan of what he does and he seems like a pretty nice guy. I heard his health story and will definitely pull the trigger also to support him. This Thing here looks amazing and Fun. Generated music is not something I have given very much thought, but the future is out there

Sorry to be the one, but it´s scapeshift

I will probably buy this once I have upgraded my computer… If it already eats 37% cpu on a M1 Mac Mini, I don’t think my 2012 iMac will cope

yea this thing is nuts — real easy to run multi outs into the DAW and mangle into oblivion-- midi control would be sweet, and midi out for the sequencer …would be worth it just for the sequencer

Quick jam with just the drum and bass engine – you can definitely coerce this where you want it to be, and dive into the details etc etc.

…my old friend and collegue treat, as an everlasting reaktor dude from day zero, had to give it a try yesterday…of course…

…and yesh, he was impressed…BUT…given the fact, that he’s a supersmart real pro, he just told me, he almost gave up forever for the first time in all his career while tryin’ hard and harder to install scapeshifter, since all ni’s/latest reaktor version installment needed more coding efforts than anything else he’d ever experienced…
and he experienced a lot…

while i can’t help but thinking, when i heard scapeshifters first soundbites, ooops, i’m right back to century break, when i was stunned to see and hear the very first selfgenerating reaktor patches…
native instruments were the first in enabling the future and they’ll be the first to end it…
i kinda hope to be wrong, a little, but mark my words, ni won’t exist anymore within this decade…

too many good reasons, why i have never touched any ni software ever again since 2007…

Once it’s able to be modulated this will go off in Bitwig.

to give this some context…all my NI stuff was out of date. couldn´t get native access to install all the dependencies. had to update Native Access, then deleting all NTK plists, the NTK daemon , and several privilegedhelpertools, then restart the NKT daemon and restart the native access helper via terminal command…for some reason this didn´t work two times(third time is then charm I guess)
to NI´s defense, this is all very well documented on they support page,

https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/13712583860125-Native-Access-Error-Please-grant-permission-to-Native-Access-to-install-dependencies

all this to update REAKTOR…thats quite a lot. the amount of access granted to your NI products need to work is kind of insane…
The hassle was defo worth it tho.!
Scapewise is mad fun!

More Scapeshift rinseouts please. I’m very curious.

instant reminder in

more than 15 years old patch, doing just what is attempted but sample & pattern based with rather sophisticated UI giving full control, can be controlled with midi too and let me think… cost nothing, was always free after it got published in “keys” magazine back in the days.

even the controls offered are same same. Lets you think a certain way. Plus “Limelite” can transition between entire sound presets that have been saved as part of Reactors native features…

this very patch had a profound impact on electronic music making and ever since drivate after derivate appeared… here some to choose from.
https://www.native-instruments.com/en/reaktor-community/reaktor-user-library/all/all/all/all/limelite/latest/1/all/?q=limelite&t=userlib

as this patch was published by Keys was also available as standalone app (hold on it was for windows 95 so 15 years available was rather under-exagerated) only via the magazine it had indeed copyrights and so is still hard to find in the library.

This has been a standard Reaktor feature sinds forever btw: snapshot morphing. Pick two presets and morph over time or create a mix of both on whatever ensemble you’re using.
