Scales in Grid Record Mode

I’m a big fan of using the grid record mode to enter notes manually into the sequencer on the TRIG page.

I’ve set up the scale in the ADD NOTES section, but when I edit the individual steps using the TRIG section in the grid record, it allows me to select all the notes chromatically.

I’d love to be able to use this way of entering notes but have it only allow me to pick the notes in the scale i’ve enabled.

Is there anyway to do this? Or does setting the scale only apply to using the Digitone’s keyboard?

I think you can hold a trig and press the Add notes/Arp button. That activates the keyboard with the scale, where you can select which note(s) you want for that trig. Then press Yes i think or No

But no way to set the trig parameter to only scroll through notes in the current scale?

Been trying to suss this out on the Digitakt - @elektron please - filter the trig notes in the trig section by the selected scale on the keyboard section.

I’m not sure on Digitakt but you can on Digitone in Step Recording mode.

Rec+Stop, then hit Func to bring up the keyboard scale. You have to release to advance to the next step.

Same function just not in the Trig page.

I’ll try that thanks - just seems like a major oversight to not filter the trig notes by the scale being used

Huge oversight that’s never been fixed on all the boxes weirdly.

Absolutely bizarre that it’s not a feature tbh, seems like an obvious design UI / UX move.
