Scale Menu Automation Issue

  1. The Digitakt seems to be recording automation of scale menu settings; not only scale length, but also just switching between “per track” and “per pattern.”

  2. It seems to be doing this just in playback mode.

  3. Is there a way to clear this automation.

  4. Is there a way to change the pattern length while not recording, but still in playback, without also writing automation?

Scale cannot be automated so there is likely something else going wrong.

Does this happen if you start a new project?

Watched the vid, As scale settings cannot be automated, this is a bug. Can you reproduce it in a new project? Reproduce in a different pattern?

I just tried to reproduce it. No luck. However, I had the same issue yesterday when I was deep into something else. Kind of got frustrated and cleared it, thinking it was an odd setting buried somewhere. But then it didn’t make sense this time because (A) I wasn’t recording, I was in playback and (B) I thought who would want to automate that? Seems like a feature just waiting to ruin a live performance.

There are some bugs associated with scale per track mode. Things going bonkers like adjusting scale while the sequencer is playing causes issues. Patterns can switch oddly, steps can get repeated.

Other things I could think of are maybe a stuck button or jittery encoder.

I would send your video to elektron support and see if they can confirm buggy behavior.
