Saving Projects on Digitone1

I just bought a used Digitone1 and when I press [FUNC] + [Settings] in order to save my project it sends me to the PRESETS menu. I have currently executed a Firmware update 1.42A and a factory reset but nothing changes.
Should I save my Projects a different way?
Any help would be great.

Try the hardware test. When powering on the unit, press TRIG 1.

Mysterious behavior on my own OG DN typically stems from a “ghost” movement of a rotary encoder.

Good luck!

Do you happen to know what to do once in TEST mode. What buttons to press or knobs to tweak. Not exactly sure how to proceed.

I think you just push each button (or combination of each button) or turn each encoder…while looking at the screen for some kind of feedback.

I tried going into TEST mode and pressing buttons has given me random results…some light up all the buttons while others just show text on the screen with no prompts. I don’t really know how to navigate this mode on this device as I am very new and still learning.
Any and all suggestions/advice appreciated.
Thanks.

Sorry, to enter test mode, hold FUNC when turning on the unit. For the first ~10 seconds, you will see some diagnostic info, then it should should say “KEY TEST” at the top of the screen. At this point you can test the buttons and encoders.

Update: If you hold FUNC and turn the Level/Data knob, does that also put you into the presets menu you mentioned? My guess is that the Level/Data knob is hyperactive. Try the following: wiggle the knob gently around a circle as you turn the knob. This, in my experience, has tempered some of the spastic behavior in the encoders. Hope this is your only problem!

Hey, thanks for all the suggestions and guidance. I think I figured it out.
Cheers.
