Save state between two scenes to new scene?

I guess you all know those happy little accidents when fading between two scenes. Is there a smart way to save such an intermediate state as a new scene? Or at least to read out the current parameter values to manually rebuild it as a new scene? My approach so far is to estimate the values but it doesn’t really work well. Any better strategy?

I think your beset bet is to just estimate like you’re doing already.

since the fader sends cc out you can read the value somewhere and restore it. you can even do midi loopback and use a midi track to recall the exact scene state

Lose the fear to resample

(I’m talking to myself, too)

Loosing the fear to resample is actually a pretty good advice

Nevertheless I’ll give a try with midi loopbacks first, this is on my list with things to learn anyway. Thanks for your replies!

Set a midi track with midi channel 1 and a CC48 (crossfader control change).
You can also use midi lfos to modulate the crossfader.

If you record cc48, all you get is the crossfader position, isn‘t it?

Ok, you would also have the ability to recall the (pretty much) exact crossfader position, but that‘s about it.

Or is there anything I didn‘t get?

Yes. To find the right value, it’s easier to use the midi track’s knob.

Record crossfader is not as easy as it seems :
