Sampling with reverb

I’ve been playing around with a friend’s Digitakt and I loved it. been thinking of selling my A4 and go sample-only (I have an OT)
I know that they cover similar territory, but I love my OT and I didn’t click with the A4 as much… anyway.
me beeing me, I can’t avoid thinking of ways I could pair them together - DT into OT, resampling it as loops, sending OT’s LFO’s to DT…
I really like the reverb on the DT, so I was also thinking of sampling loops with reverb on them… what do you think about this? I guess that if I let the loop run once to catch reverb tails it could work? of course, I loose the reverb flexibility but still… I think it could be a nice way to capture some of DT’s sound into the OT…

I thought about DT as OT companion several times but always went to the conclusion I’d rather choose a 2nd OT. Sample management,
Recently I was more after the DN but I saw a cheap MDUW+ a don’t regret my “I absolutely have to test MD” choice. So now even less reasons to go for a DT.
Keeping A4.
DN one day ?

I guess you can record the first and the 2nd loop. Add a loop point eventually, or use a first loop pattern…

well, there’s a couple reasons I wouldn’t go 2xOT:

  • first of all, I really, really like the DT sound. the only way I can describe it is as “up front”, while with the OT I feel like the sound is more “distant”. I know it might be a weird way to put it, but anyway…
  • I also really like the fx, filter (although is missing a BPF mode), pitch shifting algorythm, pre-fx mutes… sounds really good much faster, in my opinion.
  • another big plus: form factor. I really like the size of it, and I’m also considering other uses for it, besides next to the OT… for example, pairing it with my iPad (another plus: MIDI via USB, no host required) for experimental/improvised/drone sets, wich I often do a lot… I feel like I can get a lot of interactivity between the two (sequencing iOS synths, sampling from a large array of apps, controlling DT with the iPad, etc.)
  • Overbridge - I know it’s not here yet but… when it comes, and if it works as it should, it would be really useful for me, a person that struggles a bit with tracking… I just really like creating/jamming, not the best for ITB work.

MD’s are great, a friend has the SPS-1 UW and I love it.
Digitone was also a temptation, instead of the A4 - but I think I have an infinite sound palette on my iPad synths…
although I like the A4, I can’t afford to get a DT otherwise - and even if it sounds great, I’m not very fond of the sound of the OSC - I often find myself going through pages trying to find a sound that would otherwise be really easy in other synths…
plus, I have Shruthi and Audiothingies’ P6, so even if not the same, I have some synthesis options I can use.

Good points, for sure ! I’ll have to try it too anyway !
I think pitch is a regular pitch, changing speed. Not a complicated algo but +2 - 2 octaves apparently on DT is better !
I received a Micromonsta a few weeks ago (P6).

both P6 and Micromonsta are amazing for the money. I haven’t used mine for a while, since I got the A4 not long ago…
I’m surely going to miss A4’ effects, the macros! amazing for live performance… but I think the sound is not my style…
I’ve mentioned it many times in this forum, but I love the easiness I can create deep, clean bass with my shruthi-1
