Sampling Mono sources

Hey Octajunkies , whats up with sampling mono thingies , eg a Synth going in channel A - I would like to hear the sample source in the middle, but im only getting it hard panned - Is there a way to tell the octa this is mono i would like to hear it mono on the way in? right now im listening to the Direct ins in the mixer menu, is there another way to hear your signal going in? Same issue here just went through a few tutorials on YouTube, but couldn’t find out how without using a thru machine? I know there’s must be a simple answer

You can definitely record a mono source as two same channels in the OT
The trick is to set you REC Track source as A only, not as A B (A+B should work as well as the two channels are summed)

If you want to live-monitor a mono signal, a THRU-machine is a possible solution.

Disable direct monitoring in the mixer for the input, load the thru machine into a slot that makes sense for you and set the INAB value to the input you want to hear.
