I’m having trouble recording from the CD inputs but recording from AB works fine. The inputs themselves work but whenever I setup the recorder to record from them all I get silence. I’m certain I’ve used the CD inputs to record from before but it’s been a while. I even set up a brand new project but am still seeing this behavior. Am I forgetting something stupid?
Mixer volume? Record menu settings? Nothing else to mess up apart from these…
Nah, those are all good. I even re-read the manual regarding the second recorder setup page I rarely venture over to. It doesn’t make any sense to me that the input would work fine but I wouldn’t be able to sample from it. Does anybody happen have an older OS laying about? I swear this used to work…
It would not be an OS problem. You might have changed a setting if you are working in a different project than before.
What do you actually have for all the settings in the Recording Setup 1 menu?
well I’ve had to keep changing them but…
rlen = max
trig = one
src3 = -
loop = off
if I have a signal coming into AB and INAB set to AB = all good
if I have a signal coming into CD and INCD set to CD = complete silence
Mind you the tape deck icon spins and it’s actually recording new files and if I’m monitoring the CD inputs I can hear what it should be sampling. I usually record without the transport running but I tried running the transport and I get the same behavior.
I can’t think of anything that’s changed other than the OS.
You haven’t done something daft like not assigned a recorder buffer to your flex machine? I still make that mistake all the time…
Have you tried monitoring the sample when it’s meant to be recording? As in - looking at the sample editor wave form. Is it still recording silence or are you actually getting an input into the buffer?
I can’t see it being an o/s issue either but it’s things like this that drive you nuts with the OT!
Let’s make sure:

[li]if you are using recorder trigs, you are hitting the [TRIG] + [AUDIO REC CD]?[/li]
