Sampling city London to Produce Techno

Ello Elektronauts,

A brand new vlog episode is now online. This time I visited London to record samples. I then show you in detail how I used some of these samples on my love set. Enjoy!

Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll try to answer them. Cheers!

Just watching the London episode and it’s pretty good. But, I got to say, and without being partisan, that if you like the sound of the London Underground just wait until you hear the Glasgow Subway!! Trains and punters!!

Hello there Jeye_musik , are you a fellow Glaswegian?

Aka the clockwork orange

well, i wasn’t born there but I lived there(ish) for 12 years when I left home but been in Troon for the last 12 or so… currently commuting to the other side of town for work so I’m well versed in the joys of the M8 and M74… I think Elektronaust has more than it’s fair share of Scots in general tho.

You know, I’ve heard folk talk about that’s what it’s called, especially in old documentaries but I’ve yet to hear someone say in actual conversation that “I’m off to catch the clockwork orange”… I’m sure I should crack a joke about the ol’ ultraviolence now.

I’m also amazed how London sounds. It’s dense but in the meantime it’s weirdly acoustic. Doesn’t feel “jazzy” like chigaco though. Can’t find a word to describe it. Sounds like synthpop? Lol

This one’s from Liverpool st station while I was waiting for a bus. I feel a bit bad because the guy was trying to do charity and i felt like I’m taking advantage of him. Thats why I didn’t wanted to use it as a sample. But still it’s pretty interesting.

Nice one mate - that “clockwork orange” is a noisy old bugger. Not good if you have a hangover though or a football game is on! Guess it would be good to sample it though for some background noises, I did record once train station in Japan - they play bird song over the Tannoy system - weird but very calming

Good to hear there are a few fellow ElectroScots on here too!

TROON has the best fish and chips in my opinion.

Awesome Dave! Would you consider making a video on hoe you process your samples in the daw before loading them into the digi?
