Finally back with a new sampling field trip. I went to Berlin in 2019 and recorded things that crossed my path. In this video I show you the recording process and how I used the samples to create a techno track.
Shown in the video are several tricks I use regularly to create grooves.
I also bundled the samples into a sample pack which contains the raw and processed samples as well as sample chains for any sampler like digitakt and octatrack specific . All free to download (or pwyw to support). The track is also free to download!
This is just downright fantastic. The found sounds translated to a really nice song is impressive enough, but this absolute champion didn’t stop there. Documenting recording sources, editing and sharing a video demonstrating the audio manipulations, sharing the samples in multiple forms. The world needs more of this. Bravo.
oh year for sure and Dave delivers. love that guy ! i will make everything i can to get you booked in my town to make your thang. we really share a lot in common.
Really hope you enjoy the samples. And don’t hesitate to send me a track where samples were used. Or post it here. Curious to hear what others will do with it.
cool one… like all your videos … just wanted to say your YT stuff was one of reasons i bought Digitone and Digitakt, and definitely thank you for inspiration because rhey are really amazing boxes, best HW i ever had in last 30 years !
Thanks for the kind words ! Super cool to hear. Going to create some digitone tutorials as well. Still in the brainstorm proces to decide to he approach.
Amazing they are indeed. Could do a live set on those two boxes alone for hours on end
Happy to be sharing this stuff. Definitely more on the way. Have another great field recording trip which I recorded in Berlin with a good friend. And recording in Bourgogne and Vogezen in France as we speak.
