Sample pitched down when loaded onto OT

I decided to do a trial of the sample site Tracklib. I picked out a few loops that I liked and downloaded them and dragged them over to the Octatrack in USB mode. When I play them, for some reason they are all pitched down about a step and a half from what they should be. When I play one of the .wav files directly on my computer it is clearly pitched higher. I also tested them in Ableton and they played at the higher (normal) pitch too.

I should also mention I turned timestretch off.

Has anyone had this happen? While would Octatrack down-pitch samples? Does it have something to do with the samples being from Tracklib? But if so, why were they fine in Ableton?
So weird.

Sounds like a sample rate mismatch, 44.1 vs 48khz kinda thing? Maybe compare the rates that come from tracklib vs what the ot supports

it maybe 44100Khz vs 48000Khz…sounds like you should check your samplerates.

Does anyone know if octatrack converts the audio to 44.1kHz permanently and it sounds different as a result of this permanence or does the the sample remain in the OT’s audio folder as a 48kHz sample and simply gets processed/played at 44.1kHz thus causing it to sound lower in pitch?

The latter, no conversion.

Easy enough to batch convert using computer beforehand, that is what I do when I have a bunch of non standard sample rates.

…ot is cd end time era…so 44.1k forever and always…no matter what u feed it with…it reads/plays out cd quality “only”…
