When slicing and randomizing locks, for example, is there a way to save that as the default slice for that particular step?
When I randomize the slices of a loop I may take a slice out by removing the sample lock, however I may reconsider and add it back in. when I do this it defaults to slice 1. Alternatively is there a way to mute a step without removing the sample lock…
Sorry if the q’s are daft, but I’m new to OT and didn’t see this in the manual.
copy your sample locked slice trig by holding it down and pressing the record button. it should say “copy trig”.
now remove it, if you want to put it back, insert the trig and while holding it down press the stop button to paste it in.
if you want to experiment with several slice lock options try copying your tracks with different locks over to any free tracks you have on the OT while you continue to work on it.
…or keep saving different project versions so you can recall them if required.
for muting individual slices without deleting them, p- lock the volume to -64.
also, if you are using slices and locking them, you can change around your “default” slice for lack of a better term on the main playback page…if for example you did not want it defaulting to slice 1 if you did not copy the trig like zeropoint mentioned
I do this quite a bit when I’m using a 64 drum slice or something.
Unrelated to the topic, but related to slices on the OT in general -
Are slices and their corresponding information a part of the OT’s volatile memory?
For example - lets say you have a long audio sample assigned to a Flex track that you manually sliced up, then save your project and turn your OT off, restart, load your project, go to the track with said audio sample - does the machine retain slice information?
Number of slices, start/end points, trig assignment of the slices to the track pattern sequence, etc.?
Or is there something else you have to do to save this info regarding slices?
