Hey Folks
Am I wrong or is it not possible to import the samples into the AR with it original names?
If I use the C6 softwareI have to name a sample position by number and at the AR the sample appears with the same number.

Hello !
We all need to search the forum before to post or soon the forum look like shit soon …
Yes the exact procedure is :
Use C6 (latest version 1.5)
Activate SDS Handskake to secure the transmission (found in config window)
Enable Transmission extended SDS Header
You can create before uploading samples a specific directory in the incoming folder on the AR with Create Dir
And use the “upload here” function
And don’t forget to TAG your sample to get things organized
/
TAG is like Mavericks system OS X or in Native Instruments software, it’s just a keyword who is marked something as a nature of “…” (Kick, Hard, 808, 909) ; or a state of “…” (maybe urgent or progress)
If you open the Library Sounds in the AR you will see a kind of stickers at the right of the name of the sounds like A:001 KLAS and it’s labelled KICK.
That’s nice because you doesn’t have to include Kick in your name convention… So you can maybe [Create Dir] in Incoming Folder called [Kick] don’t forget to set the option upload here before to going to sysex dump and select the free slots of your + drive or the SoundPool Then you can prepare your kicks to send to your machine so :
you can name a sample 808 Hard, an other 909 Distressor, 707 Fatso, 606 Dirty… or Dark, Warm, Accent, Effected etc… Upload and then you TAG it as Kick or in a more Drummachine way BD…
The fact is TAG will give you the ability to sort, filter, search samples then on TAG
Also sample are always upload in the empty slot comes first, unless you choose where the sample goes with the global menu and the left and right arrows to CREATE DIR and UPLOAD HERE function
Think choose slot number in C6 doesn’t so important (more important on MachineDrum) but not sire on the AR
by the way… what is called TAG?
What exactly does that mean?
“And don’t forget to TAG your sample to get things organized”
OK Read further makes smarter!!
@William WILD. Got it yesterday and loaded sample no problem. Thanks! I didn’t bother tagging yet, I’ll do it later.
Btw, will we always have size limit for files?
Is it possible to apply tags to samples before transferring them (within C6)?
There is no tags for samples in the AR. “Sounds” on the +Drive is another story but for samples there’s no such thing what I can see.
You’re correct. Thanks. Still learning my way around and couldn’t figure out where i had tagged and it was indeed sounds. Wish there were tags for the samples now though!

Properly named folders and/or file names works pretty well for samples in my humble opinion. I don’t really see the need to tag samples for the moment. But I don’t have to tons of samples on my +Drive currently so yeah… Well, whatever… nevermind.

Yeah, I have them organized really well using folders in global but when i bring them into the project i lose all organization. would be nice to know which are snare, kick, etc scrolling through them.
