Sample Hashing Collisions?

I’m curious, has anyone ever run into sample hashing collisions before? That is, when your Rytm/Octatrack/Digitakt/etc. hashes your samples into a “fingerprint”, you have two different samples end up with the same fingerprint. It’s a weakness with hashing algorithms, and I’m curious if it’s ever been encountered in the wild before.

No, but I wish they would let you turn that feature off. Sometimes I want the same sample in separate folders, but the god damn Transfer App doesn’t allow that.

Yes! I have just had this issue with a lot of samples from “Samples from Mars”. Many similar samples, which are not the same samples (e.g. similar type of sound from same drum machine, with small differences in pitch, tone etc.) apparently have the same hash. This makes it impossible to transfer them all. Very annoying. I got like 25 hash collisions today when transferring a sample pack of ~400 samples.
