Sample editor with auto slicing

Looking for a sample editor that will take a loop and slice it to seprate files so i can load em later to rytm. Something that will do slices at every 1/16, 1/4 slices ect…planning to sample some of my gear and just want to know the fastest way to cut up samples.

I see strom can do this is their anything else’s computer based ?

I don’t know if it can slice every 1/16 etc, but I often use ReCycle to slice things for the Octatrack. It detects transients and can export slices as separate wavs. Most of the time, slicing something up just takes seconds.

I’ve never heard of this app. Just got done researching it. Looks very intriguing. A tool like that, if it’s as smooth/quick as they make it appear, would be super useful for me as I am sampling my analogue gear quite frequently.
But… its hard to justify the purchase when I have (and use) Ableton. Anyone whose used ableton knows it’s a really powerful sample editor. Wondering if beatcleaver would save me much time and/or give me functionality that I can’t get in ableton. Anyone out there that’s used both? I would love to get some feedback if so. I’ll probably try the trial of beatcleaver to check it out for myself either way, but still curious to hear from someone.

I got beat cleaver and it saves me tons of time only because I am sampling many samples from hardware and want to slice them all fast. I think if your doing just one sample or just a few then ableton is perfect.

I’ve done about 750 unique samples of Vermont Lancelot kick in about 4 hours. All sliced and ready to put into rytm. Before I got beat cleaver that would have takin much more time in ableton. Some of that time was figuring out beat cleaver too I think it will be even faster now I know beat cleaver.

I do have few crashes with beat cleaver I am on a Mac osx with rme sound cards. But it just is so fast at cutting up samples it didn’t bother me.

750 samples of a kick!!! That would drive me mad, what do you do with all of them?! My OCD takes hold in my music making. I have the 1000s of samples of drum hits but I went thru and picked all my favs (35-50) of each hit. If I need anything different I’ll make the sound or tweak the ones I have. Last resort is to hit the huge folders. I get anxiety just thinking about having 750similar kicks
