Same values makes different sound with CB Metallic Machine

a video worths 10x words.

I just realised with Metallic machine, when adjusting detune parameter, zero value doesn’t output the same frequency. It’s different every time. I have a feeling that this is not a bug but there’s a reason behind it. why do you think this is happening?

(careful! the sound is quite annoying and a bit high)

Isn’t it a phase variation ?
Square waves starting at different phases after detuning.
No phase reset.
