RYTMBridge Track Count

Pretty much what the title says.

When overbridge comes, will it split RYTM’s tracks into 8 or 12?
Anyone know for sure?

If it’s 8 i may just keep using the analogue outs so the conversion is all happening on the same clock and just use overbridge to send audio to & control/automate RYTM…

8, because there are only 8 voices.
Although there are 12 tracks, some of them control the same voice.
There is no conversion happening on the separate outputs on the Analog Rytm, it’s a completely analog signal path. :alien:

^ i think he means he’d rather use the analog outs going into his sound cards converters rather then AR’s A/D conversion with OB via USB.

Exactly this. Thanks mate.

I’d rather do it like this for the same reasons I make sure all my pre’s with built in converters are sync’d…

Or will Overbridge send some kind of “Word Clock” equivalent to the converter in RYTM?

This seems unlikely though as RYTM has a fixed sample rate and bit depth yeah?

So yes, I realise that the RYTM only has 8 voices and that the signal path is “all analogue” and thats why I can’t record say a clap and a stick to seprate tracks in my DAW from the analogue outs.

What I was asking and hoping, was that Overbridge would get around this by sort of “dematrixing” the two different “sounds” from the one “voice”.
I assume they would still choke and all that, but it would still be very convenient for (i hope) obvious reasons…

If this functionality isn’t already planned, is it possible that it could be implemented in the future?

It’s not a deal breaker or anything… it’s just i work with lots of macros and templates and i’ve been thinking about what workflow enhancements I can get from Overbridge…

Plus with the analogue outs I can run through a console/inserts/whatever on the way to my DAW if i’m so inclined… but, given the choice, i’d rather have 12 tracks straight into my DAW than 8 tracks via analogue channel strips…
