RYTM track chokes question

In the manual it says that OH mutes CH. Shouldn’t it be the other way around so the CH chokes the OH?

"Track CP mutes track RS, HT mutes MT, OH mutes CH and CB mutes CY. "

The Tracks to the right of the voice pairs take priority for each respective group

OH is set to the right

So the manual is correct

The CH (if played after a decaying OH) can ‘choke’ the OH (as they share a voice) … and vice versa, but when both are played at the same time OH takes priority - I guess they figure this is a better priority (keeping in mind the OH makes a better CH than the CH makes a OH) - maybe there’s just the fact that people may expect the OH to be to the right (as per GM days etc)

I think the OH is more interesting sonically, so the priority on that doesn’t bother me

In any case the CH and OH voice ‘models’ are interchangeable so anyone can re prioritise and ignore the labels

In the context of the manual text ‘mutes’ is different from ‘choking’ in the sense that a drummer may think of it - both will choke the other, but the right hand sequencer track gets priority
