Rytm stuck in pattern select mode?

Hi all! I came across some interesting behavior from my mk 1 Rytm last night. Usually, to change patterns, you select the pattern bank group you want, and then the corresponding trig for the pattern you want. Usually, the pattern trigs only light up until it times out, just a few seconds. Last night though, somehow, my rytm got stuck showing the available patterns on the trigs. Everything worked as it should, I just didn’t have to press two buttons to switch patterns.

Honestly it was awesome! It was way easier to switch between patterns while I was singing and playing keys. Is this a bug? If not, how can I recreate this behavior? I would love to have it set this way all the time.

I’m confused. Any ideas here fellow nauts?

People have requested that before… :joy:
Sometimes things “latch” if you do things in a certain order, holding a button, press something while holding some other button, something like that, and it’s not documented or possibly not even intended behavior…

Figure out what you did!

I figured it was something like this! Time to experiment :joy:

I’ll report back if I can find a way to recreate it consistently. Thanks!

This would be amazing. I guess the Tempest has this feature. How I sometimes roll is in Direct Mode just flipping through patterns. I rarely use the trigs for anything else after my pattern is ready to go.

This would be crazy fun.

HEEEEY, I was waiting for this since my first days with the AR!!! I hope a lot this is somehow reproducable!!!
(Always) Two buttons to change a pattern suck!

See, your already getting bug requests…
I’ll add to what what I said above that usually the mysterious latching order also involves the order you release things…

The most common one is: hold a performance, switch pad modes, release performance… Performance gets latched. There’s also an order to latch fills: press and hold fill, press and hold yes, release fill, release yes…

Here’s a thread about some of these things:
