RYTM + Strymon Mobius Pedal any good?

Was thinking of getting a new FX pedal. How do you think the Strymon Mobius would do with the RYTM? Any that you recommend? Thanks.

Hi, I have a Rytm and Octatrack,a a bunch of other stuff and the Strymon Timeline and Big Sky…not yet got the Möbius though…

I usually use these on Ableton lives send/return buss, rather than as an insert for max flexibility.

However it’s worth noting that these Strymon pedals are unbalanced connections and quick noisy. The big sky isn’t too bad and that would be my go to for drums, but the Timeline also suffers from a ground loop noise, despite me using a high quality isolated power supply…

What were you thinking that you’d use on the Möbius for drums? chorus, flanger? Other! Or more for samples?

I wish they made a digital input version or at the very least solved their noise issues, maybe even a rack mount unit that combined all three with digital inputs and customisable algorithms!!

So having bought these I find myself having to carefully tweet compressors and the like to minimise the noise… If I’d had known they were this noise I would have looked harder at other option, like the Eventide H9 or KSP8 or Eclipse…

Don’t get me wrong, the quality of the effects is awesome and in the mix the noise isn’t noticeable until the breaks…

Thanks for the advice. I’ll skip on the möbius for now. I Don’t want to break the good vibes and beat of the RYTM with extra sound effects. Maybe it would work best with the A4.

Just a thought… The A4 has CV outputs? If I was looking to add effects like the Möbius another look would be the Moog Cluster Flux, which can be controlled via CV from the A4.

I am using the Timeline with my A4. I sync it to the A4 and run my guitar through it. The Timeline is dead silent.
I used to have a ground loop hum problem when Midi is connected but any line isolator or DI box with a ground lift can fix that problem.

Ooh! That’s interesting. I’ve never heard of DI boxes before! Which one are you using btw? Ideally I’d like to find one that has 4 TRS inputs for the stereo inputs of the Timeline and Big Sky…I just started having a look, but most seem designed for Mono only? I’m using. T- Rex Fuel Tank Goliath as the PSU for both pedals.
