Rytm sample player quality question

HI EVERYONE!!!

I have a question, could be dumb,so bare with me please:)

I’ve recorded a sample (kick)to ableton from my AF.then transffered it to my AR with a C6 tool.

The problem is,that it doesn’t sound the same at all.it kind of sucks actually.

Am i doing something wrong, does it have to do with an ad/da conversion in AR,and is there a way to send a sound as it is?

THANK YOU!

Are you rendering in Ableton at 48khz? Native sample rate of the Rytm is 48khz, otherwise it will resample any file of a different sample rate.

YES 48khz

Did you load it into a new PROJECT (not a new PATTERN)?

yes new project.

My experience is that samples sound better when played through the AR. You say it’s a kick but still, is it mono?

Have you A/B ing stock Elektron samples (Rytm vs computer for example)?

If there is not much pronounced difference there then you will know that the problem is somewhere between your sample itself and the AR.

Is your kick in stereo and collapsing during the mono conversion? I don’t worry about samplerates when uploading samples and haven’t noticed anything bad.

Well you probably just recorded the audio input and bounced it? In that case you are missing all the processing and compression necessary to make software instruments sound big and fat. Most single track audio files sound very thin, probably lacking in amplitude when bounced unprocessed.

It would actually help if you told exactly what’s the sound is like, Is it too thin, too low, distorted or the EQ is off? Maybe give it a few turns on the Overdrive knob to give it some juice?

elektron also make sure that on the track you loaded the sample there is no overdrive applied or filter or anything like this! it was my problem the first time i uploade samples to the AR maybe a dumb advice bit for me it was the problem!

Ha I told him to apply Overdrive :S I was assuming by sucks he meant it sounded weak. Really could use a bit more info

Convert to mono then normalise the kick to -3db prior to upload
