I still cannot load samples in the machine. Spent the last two hours
with the new os. I see the little loading icon and it looks like a sample
is being loaded but it never ends up in the machine. I created a new
folder and named it and tried to load the tr-727 sounds into the machine
and they are less than 174KB each. still no luck. very difficult to figure this
out. I have a mono machine and load things onto that no prob but the RYtm
has been impossible to load my own sounds into. The old os never let it
happen.
Ive tried w USB and with MIDI. if anyone has any luck please let me know.
Its been hard putting all this time in and nothing happens.
mmm, that’s weird, i’ve uploaded samples with no issues so far (only one being the time needed to do the upload of biiig files )
you should be able to upload your samples using the usb port and c6.
make sure that in c6 you select the AR in the config page (MIDI panel) and then either load or drag the sample you want to upload into c6 and then select the sample you want to send.
on the AR you go into the incoming folder of samples (or the folder you created)
click send on c6 and you should see on the AR the progress bar appearing together with the sample name (or progressive numbers starting from 0 if i’m not wrong) should appear in the folder
this works fine for me, hope it helps you as well
Yeah I noticed that too. It appears that RYTM only recognises the first 14 characters of a file name and ignores the rest. For me this has meant I’ve had to do quite a bit of file name editing before importing cos my library is full of stupidly long names…
This not deleting samples issue is really f*cking annoying. Sometimes it works but usually it won’t. At the moment I have 11 files in a folder which simply will not delete.
Can someone else please try to delete a bunch of samples and let me know if they can replicate the issue?
One more tipp :
If you alter the MIDI in Out Route to e.g USB ,
switch RTYM On/Off to get communication with C6.
I just lost one hour of my life to find how it run…
Two things;1. Check the second box that says sps-1uw name. 2. Go into the folder and select files you want. I think all those extensions are creating a huge nontransferable file name.
Really struggling to load samples. Its the only part of the rytm I am having problems with. Everything else is amazing!
The tip about switching the AR OFF while C6 is open - THANK YOU!! Please make that a sticky to save others that headache!
So, I have worked out where the samples are going (if it doesn’t crash), in the incoming folder. But I am not sure about the whole process. I want to load 74 clap samples. I have loaded 10 so far, not sure where they are as I can only load one to a sample slot on a track and it isn’t named.
Any help with this process would be much appreciated.
Ok, I have managed to create a directory called Claps Club. I have also set this as the ‘upload’ folder. I then send 5 clap samples (mono/16 bit/44.1) and the Claps Club folder has disappeared and new samples seem to be named 0, 0, 4 & 4. Basically, they don’t have names, just a number.
I will start a new thread for my problems as it is definitely not right. When I can actually get a sample to load it is a stuttering mess. Please see new topic.
