Rytm Sample Load Issue 1.02

OS Update 1.02.

I still cannot load samples in the machine. Spent the last two hours
with the new os. I see the little loading icon and it looks like a sample
is being loaded but it never ends up in the machine. I created a new
folder and named it and tried to load the tr-727 sounds into the machine
and they are less than 174KB each. still no luck. very difficult to figure this
out. I have a mono machine and load things onto that no prob but the RYtm
has been impossible to load my own sounds into. The old os never let it
happen.

Ive tried w USB and with MIDI. if anyone has any luck please let me know.
Its been hard putting all this time in and nothing happens.

Thanks
Joseph

on the AR:
after creating the folder, have you set this folder as the upload destination (“Upload Here”)?

in c6:
in Config, have you selected the Rytm as input/output device?

mmm, that’s weird, i’ve uploaded samples with no issues so far (only one being the time needed to do the upload of biiig files  )
you should be able to upload your samples using the usb port and c6.
make sure that in c6 you select the AR in the config page (MIDI panel) and then either load or drag the sample you want to upload into c6 and then select the sample you want to send.
on the AR you go into the incoming folder of samples (or the folder you created)
click send on c6 and you should see on the AR the progress bar appearing together with the sample name (or progressive numbers starting from 0 if i’m not wrong) should appear in the folder
this works fine for me, hope it helps you as well

(you posted whilst i was typing the reply  )

Samples were successfully loaded but there is a huge problem

The delete function does not delete files!

Delete function does not work in +drive
when selecting to delete and then checking
delete it prompts you to say y/n yet nothing

happens.

I’m having this problem too. Delete appears to be working but doesn’t actually delete the sample(s). Anyone else?

when i want to send samples 2 samples with a too long file wont be transfered!

electronic snare1 will become electronic snar

if I want to upload electronic snare2 it starts and then doesnt complete the file transer, because

the renaming would end up with 2 files with the same name!

if I want to send 10 files at once, and 1 file would end up with the same name as a previous sent file

the entire send process of files will stop …

ooh boy am I proud to have found that out!

Yeah I noticed that too. It appears that RYTM only recognises the first 14 characters of a file name and ignores the rest. For me this has meant I’ve had to do quite a bit of file name editing before importing cos my library is full of stupidly long names…

This not deleting samples issue is really f*cking annoying. Sometimes it works but usually it won’t. At the moment I have 11 files in a folder which simply will not delete.

Can someone else please try to delete a bunch of samples and let me know if they can replicate the issue?

I have loaded various collections of sample 100k to 3 megs and it takes a while sometimes crashes but on average I get 100 samples on at a time.

each time I tell it which folder to go to and I place each group of samples in different files and then say upload here.

in C6 I select all files and in config setting set:

Use SDS Handshake ON
Use Extended SDS On
Send SPS-1UW Name Off

set Rec Format to WAV

In the main window L+R

My files are all WAV files with different Bit/Sample Rates

One more tipp :
If you alter the MIDI in Out Route to e.g USB ,
switch RTYM On/Off to get communication with C6.
I just lost one hour of my life to find how it run…

greetings to all
Darius

I switched mine on and off after losing about 30 minutes of my life. Worked fine thereafter.

i thought the naming conventions were solved? gah… it’s not working for me. am i missing something?

Two things;1. Check the second box that says sps-1uw name. 2. Go into the folder and select files you want. I think all those extensions are creating a huge nontransferable file name.

Hi, I get a “remotely cancelled” message in C6. Can’t figure out how to load samples. What page in the manual explains it?

Really struggling to load samples. Its the only part of the rytm I am having problems with. Everything else is amazing!

The tip about switching the AR OFF while C6 is open - THANK YOU!! Please make that a sticky to save others that headache!

So, I have worked out where the samples are going (if it doesn’t crash), in the incoming folder. But I am not sure about the whole process. I want to load 74 clap samples. I have loaded 10 so far, not sure where they are as I can only load one to a sample slot on a track and it isn’t named.

Any help with this process would be much appreciated.

Ok, I have managed to create a directory called Claps Club. I have also set this as the ‘upload’ folder. I then send 5 clap samples (mono/16 bit/44.1) and the Claps Club folder has disappeared and new samples seem to be named 0, 0, 4 & 4. Basically, they don’t have names, just a number.

Really confusing, :frowning:

I will start a new thread for my problems as it is definitely not right. When I can actually get a sample to load it is a stuttering mess. Please see new topic.

THIS! It was changing these settings that worked. THANK YOU!
