Rytm or MPC 1000?

I plan to buy mpc 1000 to my rhythm. Can you make a meaningful workflow out of this connection?

Sure you can, but in honesty these days you are better off buying an MPC live or MPC one as they have much more functionality than the 1000 and are still being developed.

I do agree but JJ is still adding/refining features.

I own an MPC One and a 1k w/ JJOS and I find the feature set often more compelling on the 1k. The One (and live) have more bells and whistles and plugins but the 1000 can do a lot of things they can’t.
Like playing sample hits, loops and patterns from one program page.

Long time 1000 user here, with JJOS. Also have had an MPC One for about a year now.

One thing to note is that the 1000 is / was incredibly stable. Never crashed on me, never had any issues with it at all.

The One has crashed a few times on me. Something to note.

The 1000 and the one sound very different to my ears.Altho the 1000 might be a bit lofi and limited by its sound engine ectect there is a vibe there that seems to lack in the new models.

I am thinking about sequencing the rhythm by 1000. Where I think that under 1000 you can also hook up a moog. The sequencer itself seems more swing?

I donā€˜t understand how people donā€˜t mention the prohibitively long load times when they speak of the MPC 1000. Loading a full bank takes forever, scrolling through sample folders takes forever…it’s a real downside of those boxes and was so annoying to me, that the box was basically unusable for me.

It also depends on what music you make. How many tracks do you need

You have connect rytm to 1000?

What you can do extra with mpc one for example?

There is so much extra the new MPC line can do its hard to list it here. Better to look at the specs for full details, but suffice to say they are like a modern DAW in a box these days including synt and drum VST like instruments and FX.

For example the latest MPC update added a bunch of FX such as a granuliser and also the ability to plug in an up 32 in/32 out sound card and use its I/O natively in the MPC without a computer.

The last update before that added a full batch of modelled Drum synth plugins. The modern MPC line is always getting new features and updates.

Yes. Maybe its better idea. Like a centrum of bedroomstudio.

You can make one program for rytm, second for moog plus lots of vst and more options

Couldn’t agree more. MPC 1000/2500 are still incredible with JJOS but these new MPC models are sooooo good. The auto-sampling and easier file browsing are worth the price of entry alone. I don’t use the plugin instruments or even the effects if I’m honest, and was quite happy with the master EQ/Compressor on the 1000/2500, but there are a lot of decent ones on the new boxes and I do very much like the master XY FX for SP-404 beat repeats and filter sweeps. I find it a bit fiddly to edit notes on the grid but then again it was fiddly on the 1000/2500 as well, and it’s more of a learning curve thing than an impossibility.
