RYTM multiple parts controlled by same fader

Hello …

I am using a Faderfox MX12 to control an octatrack, analog4 and Rytm…

I have faders 1-8 controlling the Octatrack, 9-10 controlling Trk1 and Trk2 on the Analog4 and 11-12 for controlling the Rytm

What I want to be able to do is assign a single fader to controlling the volume on CC7 Bass Drum on the Rytm and have the other fader for controlling the rest of the other instruments on the RYTM. Initially I though I would just change all the other drums to the same midi channel and set the fader to that, however when I do this, the Rytm glitches out and struggles the amount of data and falls out of sync with the other machines.

After much messing around, I worked out that I can send the fader CC data to Performance parameter 1 on CC 35 and assign set that same parameter on each instrument on the Rytm.

This works, however the big problem is its very time consuming and as soon as I change the kit or any individual sound those parameters are lost and I need to reconfigure them. as you can imagine this is very time consuming and limiting in flexibility.

My questions are …

a) is the Rytm meant to be freaking out when all these channels are set to the same midi channel and receiving data from the fader?

b) is there a way to copy a whole kits worth of parameters like a template or something to be assigned to new kits?

greets tom

I may be wrong about this, but I believe the best way is to save the individual tracks/sounds as Sounds. That way you have saved the settings to easily reproduce by loading the sound. The sample won’t be the same if you switch between projects though, as only the specific sample slot is assigned! My 2 cents

I’ve experienced glitches when to many tracks share the same midi channel, I’ve also experienced it working using performance just as you did.

You can copy/paste performance pads, you do it in performance edit mode…

You can maybe save a kit template with the performance as a basis to start new kits…
Another solution would be to use some type of midi box in between the fox and AR that takes the one channel from the fox and sends the info out on multiple channels to AR…
