Rytm mk1 sampling via Machinedrum without computer [video]

As it might be of interest to someone I uploaded a low quality video to show the direct sampling and the sample transfer from the md ram to the Rytm.
Poor man’s Rytm mk2
(actually with the benefit of having a md on top)

Excellent work!! I admit: have a little GAS for MD right now, even if I’m en route to the Octatrack. OT should only learn to do the same thing. @Elektron

The OT cannot do it this way :frowning:
There are not so many machines available today that do midi sample dump. (for a reason).

There was a quite cheap Sampler by yamaha that did this but I don’t remember the name.

Maybe someone else can chime in…

Yes, unfortunately I know. Maybe you’re referring to the Yamaha SU 20. I honestly can not understand why an OT can not be able to do such a simple thing and if it’s a hardware limit or something that could be implemented by software.

I agree. It would be good because you have no opportunity to edit the samples in the Rytm or md. A basic sample editor in mk1 Rytm would be very cool. I often do not find good start end points. And I envy the cool digitakt granular sample stuff

It is a pity. I am sifting through the network looking for a box / device / MIDI hack / anything that receives audio files via USB and sends via MIDI dump to connect between OT and AR instead of the pc. I would buy a MDUW but I can not afford a fourth box at the moment hehehe

This was one of the main reasons for me to get a MD for the fourth time. I came along a uw mk1 model for less then 500€. It looks quirky with the different height but I didn’t care about signal noise ratio and stuff from the mk2 model.

Maybe I ll invest in a better cam in the future
