RYTM MIDI In HELP! (Maschine)

I am having difficulty getting my new RYTM to accept MIDI in from my Maschine Studio
I want to use the Maschine pads as I find them far superior for playing than the RYTM.
The Maschine Studio is sending MIDI out properly…I hooked it up to my Jomox airbase, set the pads for the proper note and midi out channel and everything worked fine.
On the Elektron I went into the global menu and set the midi in to midi (I am using a MIDI cable from Maschine out to RYTM In) and set it to accept note data. I left the default channels alone
Hitting the Maschine pads does not trigger the RYTM
I set the first pad on C2 sending on channel 1. Thus should be triggering track 1 on the RYTM
I understand the channel and notes go up by one channel as you go up tracks.
I have tried C0 C1 and multiple channels as well to see if anything worked but nothing is getting through.
Could someone tell me how to configure this properly, or is my MIDI in busted?
Thanks!

BOOM!
Figured it out!
Will post in case someone else runs into the same issue.
I had to go into RYTM midi setting and turn Auto Channel to off.
Pad 1 on Maschine set to note C1 on channel 1
Pad to on C#1 channel 2…etc
Oh my! How nice it is to play the RYTM with some decent pads!!!

Tip - you can play all the pads from a single midi channel, using midi notes 0-11. No need to muck about with auto channel settings!

Deleted due to figuring it out myself.

Set all tracks to desired Midi Channel
When you play from midi note 0, the first octave will trigger individual tracks in order from 1 - 12
When you go higher than that every key press will trigger ALL tracks at once.

I had to transpose my controller to -3 octaves to get there!

Thanks!
