Hello Nauts,
I am having an issue with my new Rytm.
I feel like I understand it pretty well as I spent a lot of time going over the manual and tutorials weeks before purchasing.
Here is what is happening:
When I change patterns from a pattern that has an advanced scale with polyrythms) to either another advanced scale pattern, or to a normal scale pattern… the *first time I change patterns, the sequencer hesitates 1/16th note and does not change in time. I can even see the clock reading pause for a moment. It does not hesitate upon successive pattern changes though.
It only happens on the first pattern change after starting the sequencer from the stop position. For instance I could start the sequencer from a blank pattern, then switch to the other patterns and I would not hear it, because after the first pattern change, it works as expected.
This behavior is only exhibited when the MASTER Length of the advanced scale pattern with polyrythms is set to INF. If I bring it down to 1024, it does not exhibit the 1/16th delay/hesitation. Also, the sequencer exhibits this behavior both in PTN:Sequential (with CHNG set to 16) and PTN:Direct Jump modes.
I’d really like to be able to have my scales set to INF, and also be able to freely jump between patterns with polyrhythms.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
I think this is a bug and needs to be solved.
As far as i know HQ is already Aware of it.

Okay… Now, I can get it to hiccup while rapidly switching back and forth between patterns (very fast) in PTN:Direct Jump mode.
A small diagonal scrolling icon appears at the end of my kit name when it hesitates. Even though both patterns are referencing the same kit, and the kit is not changing.
Seems an issue with Kit loading?
As stated above, the direct change bug has been well documented and reenacted numerous times (do a search). Elektron has been aware of it since almost after the first units were shipped. They have done nothing to address it.
I think the current AR customers and any potential customer deserve a clear answer on even if they’re going to fix it, let alone when.
