I’ve read the manual and watched videos but I can’t figure it out-
On the digitakt if you function+yes you save the pattern, and no matter how much you mangle it up hitting func + no takes it all back to the save state. I love doing it mid song.
I can’t figure out how to do it on the Rytm mk2. Can it even be done? There’s save pattern and kit but those don’t seem to do it for me. Is there an equivalent command on the Rytm?
Thanks for the response! Reloading pattern and/or kit doesn’t always change the parameters back. Like if I save my pattern then change tuning and reverb on 4 different pads, reloading doesn’t bring them back to the saved states, I don’t think. I need to mess around more because I can’t figure it out.
Pattern data includes:
• General trig settings on the TRIG page (default note pitch, velocity et cetera).
• Quantization settings.
• Note trigs for all tracks.
• Trigless locks for all tracks.
• Parameter locks.
• Sound locks.
• Trig mutes.
• Accent trigs.
• Slide trigs.
• Swing trigs & swing amount.
• A kit linked to the pattern.
• Length and time signature for the tracks.
Kit data includes:
• Sound parameter settings for the 12 drum tracks.
• FX track parameter settings.
• LEVEL settings for the drum and FX tracks.
• RETRIG settings.
• General SOUND SETTINGS.
• PERFORMANCE and SCENE mode macros and parameter settings.
Tune and reverb are part of the kit. In order to reload that data first the kit must have been saved in a spot you like, then after making more changes you can do a kit reload to bring it back to the saved state.
When you switch patterns and don’t want to use the same kit (using the same kit is very useful for making pattern progressions that allow parameter changes to be carried across pattern switches), make sure you load another kit immediately after the first time you switch to that pattern. After that any time you switch to it it will use that kit. After getting your second kit in a state you like make sure to save that one too, so then you can use kit reload on that one…
Thank you for the response! I really appreciate it. It’s a little hard for me to follow, there’s so many little things to keep track of, but I’ll keep practicing.
I wouldn’t worry about memorizing all those things listed for pattern and kit just yet. In general the edit page parameters you use to make the sounds: synth, sample, filter, lfo, fx, and the scenes/performance pads are part of the kit, the sequences you make with trigs on the tracks including plocks are part of the pattern.
Kits: usually stuff you use the knobs for without pressing trigs… (edit pages)
Patterns: usually stuff your pressing trig buttons for… (track sequences)
Hello, yeah same thing for me. The AR doesn’t reload patterns, the digitakt does. Which is dull. Going pit on a limb and them snapping back to the saved pattern is a top performance feature on many devices, oh well
