Rtym sound into A4 will I loose 2 tracks?

Hi all

I have finally set up both boxes (A4 and Rtym) to play together amd want to get stereo sound from L/R outs from Rtym into A4 but not sure how to do it and if that means that I will loose 2x A4 tracks?

Or do people do it the other way around(A4 into Rtym)?

Cheers

You won’t lose tracks. I don’t own the AR so can’t comment on whether the other way around would be better.

Hi,

No need to spend two track on the A4 to let the Rytrm through.

What I did (just got my AR) is, on A4’s FX track, page Ext In, then input R balance to R, level 100, input L balance to L, level 100. You can even apply the same FXs to the Rytm’s master (delay, reverb and chorus) if you want the same settings for both synth and drums.

Unless you want to use A4’s filters, overdrive, amp env, or the “feedback” waveform. AR got filters, plenty of overdrives, so the only reason would be to destroy your sound with the feedback waveform (didn’t try it, but now that i think about it, that’s worth trying …). Or if you really really want the A4 1st filter, LP.

I didn’t try the other way around, but I will cause the compressor is interesting.

Also, with the separate track outputs of the Rytm, and don’t care about stereo drums, I imagine plenty other possibilities (if you have the right Y cord). Like plug L master out to one A4 input, and a track of your choice to the other input, then route them differently on the A4.

Just tried the AR into A4 on a track with feedback osc. That does destroy the sound, and mixing between osc 1 (filter feedback) and osc 2, then playing with the 2nd filter and adding a little reverb, that makes dirty sounds … :joy:

Thanks!
