Routing the iPhone mic directly to the headphone output?

Hi there,

Do you have any ideas for an easy way to route the internal microphone of an iPhone directly to the headphone output? I would like to use my iPhone mic for sampling on my Octatrack when I’m in the field with no other microphones

(I’m on an old iPhone 3GS, so no iOS 7)

I am not sure how to do it with out an app, but Beat Maker Pro will do this.

Not sure about the older iPhone models, but Audiobus should do the trick. iTunes Store says it needs iOS 5 to run.
