Just exported all plugin setups before updating firmware.
One question, what is the maximum number of plugins that can be saved on Roto?
And once max number is reached, where can new plugin setups be stored?
Also can we have access to previous firmware, in case something goes wrong with new ones?
Also for future update, any chance for screen brightness toggle, like for touch sensitivity?
Just installed it on windows, works fine.
Will test later 3rd party app hangout stuff
Just upgraded to 1.1.2.
In mix mode, shouldn’t it select a track when you touch the knob ?
EDIT : I changed the sensitivity to 9 (maximum). It’s much better, but still not very reactive (with my own hands at least, but there are the only ones I’ve got)
I remember reading that for better touch sensitivity roto needs to be plugged into outlet
In my case i get nice sensitivity at 3 or 4, though saying this there are some minor “glitches” in knobs like random indent feeling while twisting knobs, without me putting one
Hm, strange. Maybe a faulty unit?
Or maybe my hands are sweaty
On 5 normal mode mine is very sensitive (it was like this from day 1 on older fw)
3 and 4 are kinda sweetspot
definitely can say the roto touch sensitivity works much better when receiving a full power surge, of note also my windows laptop on battery saver mode gives false touches all over the place, not rotos fault I think. but have also noticed with battery plugged into power port, it still seems to take precedence from windows laptop as power source, best results are laptop on wall power really. or 22.5 battery and no laptop involved…
Inspired by this, I’ve played around with different USB cables and connections - directly to Mac and through two different USB hubs; and I’ve now found a path - a different USB hub and cable - which, combined with high sensitivity (9) gives me a completely workable 90% hit-rate or better…
Ah yes one thing i forgot to mention.
When choosing indent on a knob (i can see that knob is 14bit by the number it shows from 0 to 16k) we only get from 0 to 127(so 7bit).
Can this be changed?
Reason is when choosing indent halfway or 64 is fine for most of the time, but for example on some vst plugins i want to set indent to 0db to know where is a limit and with 7bit it’s not precise, it would never hit 0.
I think we would have better precision with 14bit resolution.
Got my answer
"All learnt plugin parameters are stored locally on Roto-Control.
Up to 64 plugins per single track, with up to 128 controls (64 knobs + 64 buttons) per plugin…"
Up to 64 MIDI Setups stored on Roto-Control.
Each Setup can consist of up to 128 controls (64 knobs and 64 buttons).
That’s cool
Yeah, so I’ll see to do a pc reboot, but what i am getting now is some knob stutter. I mentioned earlier it’s like there is an indent without me putting one, but actually entire knob, all of them, have micro stutter i can feel while twisting knobs.
Like it would disconnect and then reconnect in a fraction of a second causing it to stutter and jump values
