This is how it works on Tr-8s, System 8 too. Ie not a bug, more of a limitation
It is not p-locking. It is motion, which is more like automation in a DAW. P-locking is an Elektron feature. You shouldnât expect to see that in products of other brands (although it would be nice, I agree).
Both Motion and Parameter locks have there pros and cons. P-locks can be quite annoying when trying to record smooth filter sweeps etc. Thatâs why some Elektron machines also have Parameter Slides.
Their implementation actually makes sense then (to me at least) when viewed through a DAW automation lens.
Unfortunately motion record on many Roland devices is stepped transition only.
Havenât tried on Tr-1000 yet but havenât seen a âsmoothâ option
Motion doesnât need parameter slides, itâs like automation. You can record it even when thereâs no steps.
Hmm. Seems like you can do smooth recording but its pretty jittery / not smooth at all
Needs some work- perhaps a bug fix.
Try it on filter with an ACB gen and see what I mean
Part of this is that it doesnât seem to fully overwrite passes of prior motion recording. Also quite steppy / jittery sounding
Yeah. Not fine or granular. Itâs not for smooth sweeps over sustained notes but for drawing in discrete changes over steps.
You can record it without steps though
Yeah but its resolution is still rough. So it sounds steppy.
I reported this issue to Roland with example material. Im still on 1.13 and havenât run into it since I fully factory restored the machine. It happened when i combined kick and a long rumble sample on one track. Im currently on holiday. Will share the Roland ticket when back
Iâve not come across that, seems smooth to me
Have another try. Very much not smooth over here.
Easiest to hear with a filter sweep on an acb saw for example
Digital Deck Savers now has covers for the TR-1000. Ordering now in double quilted
I personally like the vinyl better. They fit better and are at least water repellent. Actually saved two of my synths when there was flooding coming from the floor above and dumping into them.
Thanks for that tip. I will give the vinyl a shot
After 1.1.4 update does roland still has audio gap between kits ? or did they fix sync issues ? thanks !
Gap - yes.
Depends on the sync issue. No reduction in latency when slaved. Added SYNC DELAY offset for on machine sync alignment. Please read change log in release notes.
Whatâs up, gang.
And happy holidays. I saw the the recent firmware caused an issue for some of those here.
Would you all recommend updating to this version? What seemed to be the issue with the latest update?
Yes would recommend updating. Thereâs still some bugs but Iâve not had a single crash or lock up which was happening regularly before.
