Anyone of you lucky owners ready to start the That Roland TR-1000 Sound channel yet.? C’mon… share some tunes.

Yea it’s all about what is tolerable. With expensive gear I am more picky because I expect higher quality.

That’s it! He was talking about “all knobs” with no reference. All good now.

Printing the reference manual this weekend, really think they could have included a proper manual for the price.

these are 100% pre-recorded. There is absolutely NO way they could get some of those camera angles at the same time without having a camera show up on a different one. The Egyptian Lover one feels exceptionally deceptive trying to market it as a live performance because its pretty blatantly obvious that it isn’t.

So you’re using live as the sequencer too?

The owners manual is printed.

I don’t understand ppl what are you talking about? Who can hear 7 ms difference?’

I am actually surprised that we have 2 channels allowed by moderators for TR-1000 as this is Elektron’s forum and usually only Elektron’s products are allowed to have various sub channels - product, tracks, wishlist, firmware. I think we should respect those guidelines.

Feel free not to read this thread then. That’s what the thread mute function is for. As a new TR-1000 owner I’m finding this thread super useful. I like that it’s not cluttered up by the inane stuff in the other thread, so it would suck to shut it down just because ppl want to be pedantic.

I think you misunderstood. This sub forum was created after 3 attempts so it was cancelled many times by moderators and this discussion already happened then. Its not my will )

I do enjoy reading them all, but setting another thread will not fly with the moderators. I think it will be consolidated into one forum as MPC once the euphoria dust settles.

Just my 5 cents.

Sure, give it a try, it might fly with mods. Just so you know what went thru in the beginning with this one. Just scroll up to second respond by avantronica.

edit: misunderstanding was already solved

I read elsewhere a lag of 54ms vs 23ms (less tight setting - this exists?) - that would indeed really be a problem, esp.
when it does not compensate for own delay when being master (so that is always behind, no matter master or slave). The last one should be solvable with firmware updates, also the reportedly not working DIN-sync. I understand the disappointment. I understand the euphoria on the other side. Hard to wait 2 years when it is finally there. But if you buy now - you have to deal with problems you wouldn’t expect from a mature product.

Don’t open

Almost as: Hey - you said you were 21, are you kidding me???

I can, which is why I dive deeper into this and made my posts. If you can’t, that is great. Good for you.

Little tip - It stands out if you want to layer drum hits on 2 machines or have been using something like a Cirklon, which is super tight within 1 ms. But again, good for you if it doesn’t affect your work. We are all different, so just because you can’t relate to something doesn’t render it meaningless.

The ERM does this by starting with one bar of silence before it sends start messages to the gear, so you can do a negative offset for these kinds of cases. Annoying part is that in the DAW you have to start everything one bar early for punch-ins etc

If you ever want to change, the Nome solves for this with its u-sync plugin. That 1 bar thing with the ERM got annoying for me over time.

Yup- was just trying it out as master (will try with Bitwig later as it works well as a slave). It worked well - start stop with Live etc, the audio inputs and outs all show up - 14 in 14 out as mono or stereo pairs, tried recording, all good. No significant timing issues ‘by ear’.

with abl and mutliclock its possible to run tr-1000 with daw and other machines in sync witbout having to have a preroll

how to

i really didnt like that preroll at all so this is the solution i came up with: you have to set the track delay of the erm plugin in ableton to the right delay time so that the slowest machine is 0 in the multiclock and delay the rest. works fine here. you have to have set all the syncsetting stuff in abl correctly to have this working though.
