There are a good number of videos in the other TR-1000 thread and lots of sound examples on the Roland site.
While it does hit much harder in person than the online videos (Youtube audio compression at work?), if you don’t find any of the online content compelling than perhaps the TR-1000 just isn’t your cup of tea.
It’s perfectly OK if it’s not for you. I don’t think it’s worth your time trying to convince yourself otherwise if you don’t like what you’re hearing, and you’re asking a lot by asking your fellow forum members to compose something that you will find compelling. Alternatively, you might wait a week or two for users to start putting out stuff naturally as they wrap their heads around this new instrument.
There are lots of great alternatives out there in terms of drum machines and drum synths. I can personally recommend Perkons (UI is so good!) and Vermona DRM1 MkIV as among my favorites…
