Roland SPD-SX with AR [was: Prog change problems]

Now on my SPD when I set the channel to 16 and midi note to 94 (which according to the manual is CC value for mute function) nothing happens.

What am I missing…?

MIDI Note messages are not the same as MIDI Control Change messages. I imagine that the SPD sends MIDI notes (so you can trigger the AR’s sounds) but not MIDI CCs.

What is the best (and easiest to setup) PADS for triggering RYTM sounds? (Having some trouble doing rolls and things. Would love bigger PADS like Akai.) I want abolutley nothing fancy. Just a clone of the Pads on my AR but external and close to zero latency. For sounds 1-12 only.
