Roland SPD-SX triggering OT

Sorry Peter one more cheeky sort of related question to this:

So seeing as I can send MIDI notes from the SPD, will these be assignable to trigs on the Octatrack? i.e. will a midi note be able to trigger a one-shot sample on OT? Thanks,

Yup. The OT responds to the MIDI Note numbers listed on page C-1 of the manual. Be careful: other note numbers activate sequencer functions.

i want to controll my octatrack 1 with spdsx basic functions start stop record for live looping plus selecting next song is this possible?

Hi. Possible, for sure.
Check Project > MIDI > SYNC.
Check Transport and Clock SEND.

I don’t know is the SPDSX uses Program Changes, if so, check Program Change Send and a specific channel, share with the SPDSX.

nice one for that gonna give that a try, also think there might be a midi note vs cc problem that might be causing me problems too.

You are going to have to set up the SPD-SX to send MIDI note messages to the OT in accordance with Appendix C.1 of the OT’s manual.

No.

you mean i got to read the manual :joy: thanks for your help

Oops I understood you wanted to control the SPDSX transport / sync with your OT. The Roland doesn’t seem to have a sequencer!:content:
