It really takes a lot more familiarity than the S-1. It’s very sensitive to gain-staging in my opinion and there are a lot of hidden places to do that. Once I started learning to back things off and let it “breathe” a bit it started to sound a whole lot better, but there’s also a lot of annoying workflow quirks that led me to ultimately sell it along and I haven’t been that tempted to dive back into another one.

I don’t think it is a sample, it has the SSaw Detune parameter that detunes the stacked saw waves, that would require at least a wavetable.

IIRC that is even a target in the mod matrix.

It’s not a sample, it’s a modeled waveform based on the Zen engine. Cool thing is you can use 4 super saws with SH4D engine to get really nasty sounds.

Okay you’re right, it’s not a sample. I think the issue is actually that the waveforms all start at the same phase.

Jupiter X and other zencore synths have the same
detune parameter and have been analysed to be sample based
