So I just installed a set of RMK-2 rack mounts on my A4. The bag they came in (from sweet water for $50 $#@!) says Octatrack/Analog Black. They mounted just fine on the OT. They did NOT mount just fine on the A4. I spent a good part of an hour trying to gently screw in these screws that came with the kit.

Parts of black paint flakes off the A4. Seems an unnecessary amount of torque required and even then there is a little bit more that needs to be screwed but the head of the screw is getting dangerously close to stripping.

Now I’m afraid to unscrew these things. Did I just get f*cked? Fifty bucks for bent pieces of steel and four screws would lead me to believe that I shouldn’t have to worry about incompatibility…

Somebody tell me everything’s going to be ok…

Hmm… I racked my OT and A4 with original elektron rack ears without any issues. I racked/unracked them several times. One thing I made was placing masking tape on each ear before racking to avoid scratches on elektrons.

It’s likely to be caused by the way the Analog instruments’ cases are finished, not the mounting kit that you bought.
