Ribbon controller for Analog Four?

Hi,
I am looking into buying the Elektron four but I would really like to control it with a ribbon controller. I think on of the best -and one of the only ones - is the Doepfer R2M. I would also like to control it via CV, not MIDI, as I think CV has much better resolution than MIDI (it is voltage, not discrete on/off messages) - do you agree with this?

However I noticed that the Analog Four only has CV/Gate Out, no CV/Gate Ins! Is there any way around this or anything you can recommend?

Should you find out that the r2m is what you want - I have one for sale - practically unused
