I see many topics, at the end I have no idea.
I want to have fx at the end of the chain.
I love good sound, I hate menu diving
H90 = nice, looks good, sounds good

1978 chase bliss = nice, looks very good, sounds good
Echo fix 3 = nice, looks fantastic, sounds great but is too big.
I sold my heat + fx
Reverb and delay is the cheese or sugarcoating. I hate it I’d not done right. I don’t like it if it is unnecessary complex.
Go wilder. Buy a Gamechanger Light pedal or a Knas Ekdahl Moisturizer. Neither are remotely practical. But they have presence and soul. Having said that all my reverb pedals are to some extent eccentric or nonsensical. I also use a Holy Island Tides (actually pretty good for a dirty reverb), and a DBA Phosphene Scream and a Sunshine reverb. With Industrialectric shuttering its doors I’m slightly gutted I sold my RM1-N but may look out to stock up again. Another very dirty reverb that warms the heart.
Although sometimes I do wish I had a nice digital reverb that just did a job as opposed to moaning and howling. However soulfully.
I had the Mercury LVX for a week or so before returning and have had the MercuryX for a couple of days. Using for synth (Super 6) and a Nord Piano.
The value in these two pedals seems to come from the very in depth amount of control you have, but when considering the price I’ve found both pedals to be overkill for my needs. They seem to excel at interesting and complex delay/reverb sounds that act almost as second instruments in their own right, and for the type of music I play and enjoy (no ambient stuff whatsoever) I’m just not looking for that and want reverb as that final layer of polish/to make sounds feels alive and like they’re in a realistic space.
I’m not technically minded enough to give an appraisal of the reverb algorithms that offers anything beyond what watching a video or two on YouTube would give you. One of the things that drew me to the Mercury pedals was the fact that they’re sort of multi FX pedals as well - offering choruses, compressors, preamps, tremolo etc in addition to their core purpose. But again, in practice, I’ve found these to be nice-to-have but unneccessary and, when it comes to making custom presets, something I’d rather ignore and not think about.
Next for me is the OTO Bam I think. I love the aesthetic and all the demos I’ve heard have been impressive. Others in the mix for reverb that I’m considering are the Blue Sky v2, UA Golden Reverberator and the Tasty Chips Integral as a wild card option.
The answer is easy. Decide forever and obsess over it, finally decide on one and purchase it. Then spend the next 3 weeks regretting it and wishing you had chosen differently.
Then sell, buy, repeat.
It could be worth you trying a Lexicon MX200, which you would have to buy second hand from say ebay.
Your ears might really like Lexicon reverbs, which I would say sound more natural than other reverbs.
For the Polyphrase, I had the chance to try one for several days and it’s a remarkable Delay. Probably one of the best sounding Delay I’ve tried. The only downside is the weird way to save a Preset. I’ve contacted Vongon about it and the guy told me he would work on it and provide a FW update based on the suggestion I discuss with him. I’m still waiting for it to repurchase the pedal.
For the Nightverb, my recommendation is based on YT videos only.
