Resample one track while the other are playing

Hi, judging by the manual it seems it’s possible. The idea is sample a track without stoping the others and then change the sampled sound and the original source with the fader.

I assume that this is impossible on the MachineDrum.

Can someone confirm me?

As I know, you cannot manage sound slots by fader.

at OP, whilst your question isn’t entirely clear to me i think what you are asking for is covered in one of the Elektron tip videos - you just want to crossfade between ‘live tracks / machines’ and a ‘fresh sample’ of them ? !
look for the term XLV in the manual - it’s available when you are editing scenes - maybe that’s what you’re after

Well, I’ll explain it better. I only own a x0xb0x. What I want to do is smooths transitions between songs. So my idea is, while everything is playing, quickly sample what’s playing in the x0xb0x track and play that sample. Then I would change the x0xb0x pattern and I’ll do a blend between the new melody and the old (sampled) one, while the drums may continue being the same (or not).

that’s what i thought - i’m sure it’s covered in one of the Elektron vids and discussed a lot on here

Great, thank you. I don’t own an OT yet, I’m deciding the best machine for me, may I ask if you can do the same while the other 7 tracks are playing?

yep !

Note that you can do something very similar on the Machinedrum: the ‘transition trick’ attributed to Elektron pioneer user Wesen. This pdf document contains a description.

Thanks for the help  Doubt solved.
