Hi, judging by the manual it seems it’s possible. The idea is sample a track without stoping the others and then change the sampled sound and the original source with the fader.
I assume that this is impossible on the MachineDrum.
at OP, whilst your question isn’t entirely clear to me i think what you are asking for is covered in one of the Elektron tip videos - you just want to crossfade between ‘live tracks / machines’ and a ‘fresh sample’ of them ? !
look for the term XLV in the manual - it’s available when you are editing scenes - maybe that’s what you’re after
Well, I’ll explain it better. I only own a x0xb0x. What I want to do is smooths transitions between songs. So my idea is, while everything is playing, quickly sample what’s playing in the x0xb0x track and play that sample. Then I would change the x0xb0x pattern and I’ll do a blend between the new melody and the old (sampled) one, while the drums may continue being the same (or not).
Note that you can do something very similar on the Machinedrum: the ‘transition trick’ attributed to Elektron pioneer user Wesen. This pdf document contains a description.
