Replacing a crackling volume pot on a pretty much new Digitone

Digitone II Headphone Audio Output Issue (?)

Original pot is Alpha RK14 series, exact part number is unknown. Parameters: dual gang (stereo), 2 x 10k “A” (audio/logarithmic), vertical, snap-in, PCB mounted, 6mm diameter 23mm D-shaft, 7-pin, no common pin, no center detent. The replacement I found in the local shop is different brand, Alps, 20mm, common pin but just works fine. Theoretically 20k instead of 10k would give less bleeding at 0 at the expense of slightly more noise. Warranty is lost due to DIY repair, of course. Take this i…
