But i’m still having some problems with some buttons, specially with the Scene B one, or with certain step numbers. If you press them in a certain way, with force they sometimes get stuck, specially if you move the button in certain direction while holding it pressed.
Anybody has any tip to fix this? Because i don’t think new buttons will do the trick. I’ve read a lot of threads but haven’t something useful. I’ve read in the past some people removing the front plate in order to “center” it, but i don’t have a clue on how to do that.
There are ironically two different types of “sticky” when it comes to Elektron keycaps. Either the overall texture of the keycap degrades and becomes sticky, or the switches are misaligned to the faceplate causing them to stick. Can the texture issue worsen the effects of the misalignment issue? Very probable, but since you have replacement caps, onto the next one.
In your case the pcb that your switches are mounted to needs to be realigned with the faceplate. This link should bring you directly to the portion that you need. He’s using a DT but disassembly and tool selection is the same. I always suggest that you don’t need to go as far as removing the ribbon cables. You can do all of this by simply rotating your faceplate over the rear of the device after removing the faceplate screws.
